Route type: Local delivery, home daily

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM start. Average 40-hour work week.

ABOUT THE JOB

Airgas is hiring a CDL B Driver in Newnan, GA. You’ll deliver compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from the Airgas Newnan branch, driving a company-provided CDL B truck. The job means loading, unloading and returning gas cylinders, and you’ll deal with Airgas customers often.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

– Do pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections

– Load and unload the truck daily with gas cylinders and supplies

– Build courteous, professional relationships with customers

– Make deliveries on time

– Secure and unsecure cylinders safely

– Deliver on customer property using a hand cart. This is a physically active, hands-on job.

– Get in and out of the vehicle often

 

REQUIREMENTS

– Valid Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and Air Brake endorsements. Hazmat can be obtained within 60 days of hire, and Airgas helps with the cost.

– Keep an up-to-date driver’s license, medical card and endorsements

– Driving record: in the last 3 years, no more than two traffic convictions, OR two at-fault accidents, OR one traffic conviction plus one at-fault accident

– No driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance in the last 7 years

– Able to work in a drug-free environment

– Able to regularly lift 75 lbs and move more than 125 lbs with material handling equipment

– 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years, OR a trucking-school certificate of completion from the last 12 months

Preferred: Forklift experience
